Continuing Education Requirements Vary
Continuing education requirements vary by profession, credential, state, licensing board, employer, and professional organization.
Participants are responsible for confirming whether an ATCEA course meets their individual continuing education requirements before registering.
Course Approval Status
When continuing education credit is offered, the course page will describe the approval status, number of instructional hours, target audience, learning objectives, instructor information, completion requirements, and certificate process.
If a course is not approved by a specific board or organization, participants should not assume it will be accepted for credit.
Participant Responsibility
Participants are responsible for checking with their licensing board, credentialing organization, employer, or professional association to confirm whether a course is acceptable for their needs.
ATCEA does not guarantee that every board, employer, credentialing body, state, or professional organization will accept every course.
Certificates
When certificates are offered, they are issued after completion of the stated course requirements. These requirements may include viewing lessons, completing quizzes, submitting reflections, completing evaluations, attending live sessions, or meeting other course-specific requirements.
Certificates document completion of a course. They do not guarantee board acceptance, licensure approval, clinical competence, or authorization to practice outside one’s training, credential, license, or scope of practice.
